Lekhny Story -29-May-2024

Name: Sree Varshini R Genre: Epic Poem Title: An Ode to Everest Day

In the realm where the heavens kiss the earth, Where mountains loom in eternal berth, A titan stands in icy shroud, Majestic, silent, stern, and proud.

This is the tale of Everest's crest, The peak that dares the boldest quest. In tales of yore, in legends spun, Where dreams are forged and victories won.

In May, the twenty-ninth, the day, We mark the path, we carve the way, To honor those who first did climb, In nineteen fifty-three, that time.

Sir Edmund Hillary, brave and bold, With Tenzing Norgay, their story told. Two souls united in their aim, To conquer heights, to stake their claim.

Through icy winds and snow's embrace, They ventured forth, they set the pace. The death zone's grip, the oxygen thin, Their hearts of steel, their spirits kin.

With every step, the summit near, Each breath a testament to fear. The sky above, the earth below, In silent reverence, their spirits grow.

The Sherpas’ song, the climbers' call, Echoes through the mountain's hall. For every soul who dared aspire, To touch the sky, to feel its fire.

On Everest's peak, they stood as one, Beneath the stars, beneath the sun. A triumph carved in ice and stone, Their legacy forever known.

And thus, we honor every May, World Mount Everest Day. A time to dream, to seek, to find, The limits of the human mind.

For in the climb, the spirit soars, Beyond the peaks, to distant shores. In every heart that dares to dream, Flows Everest’s eternal stream.

The mountain calls, the summit waits, For those who seek their fates. In endless quest, in tireless stride, In every heart, where dreams abide.

So let us raise our voices high, To honor Everest in the sky. For every soul that dared to see, The heights of human destiny.

On Everest Day, let courage bloom, In every heart, dispel the gloom. For mountains tall and dreams as well, Inspire the stories we shall tell.

Here’s to the climbers, brave and true, Who touch the sky and feel the blue. In every May, the tale we say, Of Everest and its grand array.

For in its shadow, we are grand, Together we, the climbing band. With every step, we touch the light, On Everest’s peak, so pure, so white.

So raise a toast, let voices ring, For all who climbed and all who sing. On Everest Day, let spirits soar, To heights unseen, to dreams and more.

This is the tale of Everest’s might, A beacon in the endless night. For those who dream and those who dare, The mountain stands, forever there.
